Doctor's Report
Ella's sleeping now, with the doctor appointment, and her shots behind her. Thank goodness. It wasn't all that bad, but we were pretty silly making an appointment at a doctor's office on a Friday afternoon. Our appt was at 4 and it was 5:45 before we finally got out of there. Our doctors are so great though - we love them - so it's worth a little waiting. (The office is called The Kid's Clinic) Ella took her shots like a champ. She cried of course, but recovered pretty quick. And mom did pretty well too, I'm proud to say. As for Ella's stats, she only weighs 10 pounds, 11 ounces and is 24.5 inches long. That's only the 3rd percentile for weight, but the 87th percentile for length. She is taking this long and lean thing to the extreme! The doctor wasn't overly concerned, but we do need to ramp up her feedings. It's hard not to worry that I'm not giving her all that she needs since I'm nursing, but Dr. Thompson said I just need to make sure I'm eating the extra 500 calories a day you need when you're nursing - not such a terrible thing to hear! He had a couple other pointers we'll put to use, and then we'll bring in Ella for a weigh-in in another month and see how she does.
