Go Fly a Kite

Costco has the coolest kites, and Seth had to get one for the princess fairy in our house....the old softy. Ella and he went to Hart Field to test Tink out a couple weekends ago. The wind was a little gusty so it could have gone better, but it was a fun outing anyway I hear. Seth came home and said that he didn't remember flying a kite to be so hard! I'm sure there will be time to practice more this spring/summer.

Kid Stuff

  • Update on the tooth front: Luke now has 3 teeth! I announced the 1st one on the blog at 8 months, but about a month later, #2 made it's entrance (right next to #1 on the bottom), and #3 just broke through about a week ago on the top. This poor little guy has been busy! Funny thing is he hasn't really even been fussy. We are blessed.

  • Ella's been such a little girl these days. When I say that I mean she's been a big little girl. It just seems like there are periods of time where we can actually seeing her growing up. Her latest favorite saying is "Did you know I could do this?" After which, she'll proceed in showing us a crazy twirly move or bonk her head on the couch or something very impressive like that.

  • Ella has also become oh so picky about her clothes. I'm not talking about the fact that she likes to pick out what she'll wear - which she does. I mean that she is super sensitive these days when it comes to how her clothes fit. The seam in her socks.... everyday we have to adjust and adjust until it feels right on her toes. She can't stand anything that's too tight, including leggings that are tight around her ankles.....I cannot wait until summer arrives and we can lose the socks and she can wear dresses everyday!

Spring Seattle Trip

The family packed up and headed to Seattle this past weekend. Friday we stayed with Gabe, Nancy and Jameson and enjoyed Gabe's cooking and some time at the park in the sun. Saturday afternoon we headed on to Maple Valley where we hung out with Lynn, Tim, Isaac & Addison. It was Addy's 1st birthday party so we were able to help celebrate that and catch up after the party. We had so much fun, and it was nice to hang out with friends and family. Hope to see them again soon!

Luke got a comfy ride in the backpack (check out Ella running toward the water in the background. We caught up to her before any damage was done!)

I think Ella would have waded out into the water if we'd let her!

a gorgeous spring day in Bellevue!

Luke's first time in a swing - he loved it. He giggled and smiled the whole time

first time in the big kid swing - yet another sign that Ella is not a baby anymore

Lynn made the cutest cupcake.....lots of them with purple frosting, which made Ella love them even more

Ella was more than happy to help open presents

Date Night

Seth and I made it out of the house on our own on Saturday night. Dinner, drinks and a concert! David Gray was in town and we're fans so we picked up tickets a while back and then signed on Grammy to babysit. She tells us its a pleasure for her, and I've got to say I think she's being about 95% truthful......We sure do appreciate it! The concert was good (not as good as when we saw him in Sandpoint), but we really just loved getting out of the house with no diaper bag!

No one makes Luke laugh like his sister.

Luke's 9 month Dr. Appt

Luke and I made a trip to see Dr. Lee for his 9 month check up. He's healthy and happy. Not tipping the scales at this point, he weighs 19.1 pounds and is 28 1/2 inches long. The doc says that at this age they are moving around so much they don't put on the pounds as quickly anymore. Funny thing is, Luke is pretty happy just sitting still. He makes a few attempts to scoot forward toward things, but still isn't in any hurry to crawl. Dr. Lee agreed that it's probably just part of Luke's laid back personality.... It's hard to be too upset that he's not crawling and cruising around yet. It will be "fun" when he is, but until then I'm going to enjoy knowing he's staying in one spot! Just happy he is healthy!
