SHOWERS

I've been to 2 showers this month, and haven't posted anything about either one yet. One was for my sister-in-law, Nancy. My Mom, Luke and I headed to Bellevue for the big event. I'm so glad we did. Gabe and Nancy were able to meet Luke for the first time and it was so fun to be able to celebrate Nancy's pregnancy with her, her Mom, and friends. Baby Storment is due on July 22nd - can't wait!!!!

The other shower I'd gone to was for Luke and I - at our church, Manito Pres. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was the sweetest thing ever. I am truly blessed to be supported by such a cool, kind, and generous group of ladies!

Where are the birds?

Ella was given a very cool Cinderella chair by one of her favorite people in the world, Abby (Kristen's sister's daughter....did you follow that?). I think I've probably mentioned her before. Anyway, we were out in the back yard yesterday and as Ella sat in this chair she asked me where the birds were. I wasn't sure what she meant so I asked her what birds? This is what she said.

"The ones that land on my hands."

If you remember the movie, Cinderella has quite a few feathered friends. The chair shows Cinderella with birds flying near her and one of them has landed on her hand. Pretty sure that in Ella's mind, that meant that sitting in this chair would bring out the birds that are friendly enough to come perch on your finger. I love the way her brain works!! :)

Be careful what you say

Ella wanted to hold Luke yesterday so as I was sitting next to them on the couch, it looked like Luke was taking up more of Ella's lap then he used to. I said that it looked like Luke was getting bigger already. Ella looked at me and said very seriously, "Luke's big? He can play? He can get down and play with me?" We've told her that since Luke is so little right now he can't play like Ella can, because she's such a big girl. When she heard me say he was bigger, she got so excited to think Luke might be able to play with her! Wish I could explain to her that it will be before she knows it and he will be into her toys wanting to play and she will be over the whole idea - wishing he'd get lost!

Stuff to do

Seth's back to work now, but while he was home we figured out quite a few fun things to do to keep the toddler in our house entertained. We hit the kid's museum downtown, ran through the sprinkler, played in the rain and puddles and went to the park a bunch of times. The weather has been so so lately, be we have managed to do some summertime activities!

We're members at Mobius Kids' Museum now. Such a great place!

There's a chill in the air

It's mid June and I turned on the heat today in the house. We've been known to have some chilly nights and some days in May, but usually by mid June our days are nice and toasty. Strange to have such cold weather this time of year. Made turkey meatloaf and mashed potatoes and gravy for dinner....I won't have the opportunity to make many comfort meals like that for a few months so had to take advantage while I could. It was also rainy today and Ella has decided recently that she likes to play in the rain. Luckily, Seth has indulged her and taken her outside in her boots to splash around a few times. I'll post pictures sometime soon.

2 Week Follow-Up

Luke went in for his 2 week Dr's appt last week, and everything checked out great! He's putting weight on, and seems to be very healthy over all. 15th percentile for weight and 51st percentile for height. Long and lean so far just like Ella. Today he is 3 weeks old!
