Say Cheese!

So it's still a challenge getting a good pic out of a 6 week old baby, but Lord knows we try! Ella is just starting to give us some smiles. It's the best thing in the world! This is as close as I've come to capturing it, but I know there will be lots more! This one's for you Grandma!

Will it ever stop?

We saw at least 10 inches of snow fall on Sat/Sun - it snowed for 24 hours straight! We got about 2 more inches today...I do love the snow, but this is going a little overboard.

TGIF - almost

Seth started back to work on Monday for the first time since Ella was born. So far we are all surviving. Ella, Serena and I miss him during the day for sure though.... and look forward to him coming home in the afternoons. Ella's been helping out by sleeping pretty well for us so Seth can get the sleep he needs at night. Last night was a new record - she slept for 7 hours I think! Pretty unbelievable! Let's see what she does tonight.... :)

We Love and Miss You

Seth's Grandmother, Mary Wallington, passed away in London on January 19th. She was an extraordinary woman, and we feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to know and love her. We will miss her greatly.

First Bottle

Here's a shot of Seth giving Ella her first bottle..... ain't they cute? Now Daddy can see what fun those 3 am feedings are! At least for the next couple of days. Seth goes back to work on Tuesday! Oh no!

Has it been a week.....

....since we last posted an entry? Wow, where do the days go? It's Ella's 1 month birthday today! Can't believe she's already a month old, but at the same time feel like she's been with us forever too. Haven't been too busy this last week. Just hanging out at home still trying to get the hang of this whole parenting thing. Some days we feel like we're getting it, but there's days where reality really slaps us in the face! :) We made it out of the hous a couple of times and Ella is really a good traveler. She seems to like riding in the car and usually zonks out in her car seat when we get to our destinations....

Took some pictures the other day when we got Ella's activity mat/gym out (what do you call the thing? I'm not sure). She's really able to lock in and track things with her eyes now. Amazing how fast they grow and change!

Day-o-Sports

The Cougs play at 11:30, the Seahawks at 12:30, and the Zags at 5:30. We will be watching lots of tv today, but not much new about that. :) Go Cougs! Go Hawks! Go Zags!

Darn you, UPS Guy!

I know how rosey our blog started out today..... it was a great night for sure. Well about 12 hours have passed, and it's been a good day overall, don't get me wrong, but Ella is going though what I'm hoping is a stage where she is not happy unless she is being held. So there's really no putting her down unless she's sound asleep and doesn't realize she's not being held anymore. Seth and I are perfecting the skill of transferring her from our arms to the basinette or bed, but it's definitely still something we're working on. Just a little bit ago, I had fed Ella and let her sleep on my lap for a while until I knew she was really out. I managed to get her into the basinette without too many flinches on her part and after doing a little happy dance, I went downstairs to get some laundry and what do I hear? The door bell followed by the dog barking! The UPS guy had dropped a package at the door. Thanks buddy, but your timing couldn't have been worse! AH! Needless to say, Ella woke up and not many things got done. So it goes.....

Oh what a beautiful morning!

Had to share this.....everyone in our house had such an amazing night of sleep and quiet! Ella went down last nigth when Seth and I did - around 11:30. We all slept until 5:30! OMG! That's a record in our house! I feel so good this morning! We'll see what Ella and the day has to bring, but boy o boy am I feeling good about the day right now with such a good start! :) Happy Friday everyone!

Little Miss Ella is 3 weeks old today. Here's some new pics.....

Snow, snow and more snow!

We got about 7 inches overnight last night! I don't remember this much snow since I was a kid.... and I love it! Especially since we are at home with Ella and don't have to be out driving in it. We're snug and warm inside with the baby.....just watching the snow pile up.

Auntie Maia's visit.....

Seth's sister Maia came to visit our little family - all the way from Laramie Wyoming. She arrived on Thursday and we are all so happy to have her here, but wish it was for longer. She goes home tomorrow, and we're sad. Ella's gotten attached to her Auntie.... look at the pics below, can't you tell? We love you Maia!! Thanks for coming to see us! We'll be counting down the days until we get to come see you this summer!

Doctor Visit 1/2/08

Can't believe it's 2008 now! Have to get used to that...... Seth and I took Ella in for her 2nd doctor's appt this morning. The appt was at 9:10, which in my life before Ella would not seem early at all, but with a brand new baby in the house, and no regular schedule, 9:10 sounded incredibly early. But we made it out of the house at about 8:50 and were at the doctor on time! So proud of us!

Ella now weighs 7 pounds, 2 ounces! Yes! Such a good feeling when you're nursing, knowing that everything you're doing is actually working and your baby is gaining weight and healthy! Ella's also a half an inch longer now - so 20 and 1/2 inches long. According to Dr. Lee, she is doing great! So good to know!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hope you all had a great celebration to ring in 2008! Everyone in our house was up at midnight (and beyond) and saw the new year in. We hadn't planned on it, but like I've said in past blogs, Ella isn't one to miss a party, so she convinced Seth and I to stay up - maybe it was her screaming that did it, but whatever it was, it worked. Grandma and Grandpa Storment were planning a trip up to visit today, but had to postpone because of some nasty cold wind at their house. We'll see you soon!

Seth's sister Maia is flying in to see us on Thursday. We can't wait!!!!!
