Cougs Win! Cougs Win!

Seth and I went to Pullman with my Dad, and brother Gabe this weekend, for the Cougar game against Portland State. We were expected to win, yes, but with the way we've played so far this year, there was no guarantee. It was so nice to put one in the win column! My dad and I stayed through the first half and then headed back to Endicott where Grandma Sharon was babysitting Ella. Thanks Grandma! She and Ella watched the game on tv while the rest of us got to tailgate and cheer in person. It was a fun day!

Ella Rose is 9 months old

Happy Birthday Mommy!

So this is my first time posting so hang in there. I want to send a very special Happy Birthday to my Mommy. She takes the best care of me, my daddy and my puppy. Now that's a lot of work! Unfortunately I don't have any recent pictures of us but I thought I would post this one since its Cougar football season (even though its a down year, so they tell me). I hope you have a great birthday Mommy and I cant wait till I get to eat some of you cake! You are having a cake right?

Ella Update

So Ella is crawling all over the house.... or at least where we'll let her. She's also very busy trying to pull herself up on EVERYTHING. Even the wall today..... nothing above her to reach for and nothing on the wall to help her stand.... just wanted to stand up at that spot for some reason. Now that she can get around she sure seems to have amped up the energy level. She's a little energizer bunny! She is the happiest baby too. She smiles so often - it's the best thing in the world. Everyone wants to stop and talk with us when we're out. She flashes her toothless smile and reels people in. Maybe she's going to be an actress? She seems to love an audience. She babbles alot, saying all sorts of things....and lately she's making this strange growling noise. Hope that's a phase.... our little monster.

We go to the doctor for Ella's 9 month check up on 10/2. Looking forward to no shots, and seeing what she weighs now. She's still small compared to the averages, but healthy for sure.

Weekend Sum Up

Gabe and Nancy drove over from Seattle for this past weekend - got here late on Thursday night. Seth and Gabe had a day of golf planned for the new golf course in Pullman, Palouse Ridge. So while the guys golfed, Nancy, Ella and I went to the Palouse Empire Fair in Colfax. Apparently the golf course was pretty tough, so here's a warning for any of you making plans to head to Pullman with your clubs. The girls had fun at the fair - Grandma Sharon was working there, earning credits toward her Master Gardener status. Nancy is from L.A. originally, so I wasn't sure what she'd think of this tiny fair, but she said she liked fairs so knew this one would be an experience. (This is the tiny fair that we used to go to every year when we were little - oh, the memories! It didn't seem so tiny then.) Grandma was happy to watch Ella for a bit while Nancy and I checked everything out....didn't take very long.

Saturday Gabe, Nancy and Seth headed to Pullman for the first Coug game in Pullman this year. We won't discuss the game any further (if you saw the game, or even just the score, you'll understand why), but the tailgating before hand was fun I hear. A beautiful day for a game too.

Motivation is definitely a factor.....

You'll see.....Ella is crawling quite a bit better since the last video, but it takes some incentive to get her going most of the time. She's more interested right now in pulling herself up (on anything) and standing up.

Labor Day Weekend

We had a busy, fun-filled weekend.... and I'm finally getting around to posting. We were in Seattle Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the Cougar game. I know some of you watched, but it was definitely not something to get excited about. Not really a surprise though with a new coach. Hopefully we'll see some improvement through the season. Let's be more positive - we will!

Ella had a long day Saturday. She refused to nap before we left for the game and by the time the 2nd half rolled around (early afternoon), she'd had it with all the festivities and fell asleep in the baby bjorn while I walked her around. After the game, we all headed back to Gabe and Nancy's in Bellevue for a seafood boil. When I was in town last month, we'd done one too - the first. This was a huge step-up with rounds of food being cooked and set out for everyone. There was about 10-12 people there, but enough food to feed - maybe 20? We all stuffed ourselves - delicious! Ella went to bed about 7 pm without a peep and slept the whole night -even with party going on outside her room. What a girl!

We headed home on Sunday to enjoy a full day at home on Monday, since Seth had the day off. We took a picnic lunch to a park close to our house and saw that the symphony was going to have a small concert there later in the day. So we headed back to the park for the music - it was so fun! We'd heard about this concert in the past, but had never been. We want to start a tradition and go every year. There were tons of people there - with food, wine, kids..... everyone just hanging out and enjoying the beautiful park and music.
